does it charge the bat when the amp is off. if not you have a bad alt. if it does you still need a bigger alt go 150amp or bigger.good luck

That 97A alternator might have its rating stated in peak current, instead of RMS. If that's the case, then you really only have a 68A alternator(97A * 0.707), in which case your 580 watt amplifier(pulling 48A) is starving your electrical system of all the power it needs. The rest of your vehicle must need the extra 20A for your spark coil, computer, and lights.

The alternator or the voltage regulator has blown.
Take a multimeter and measure the voltage without the engine running. Should be about 12V. Then start the engine and take another reading across the battery terminals and it should read 13.6V. If it doesn't then you need to have the charging system repaired.

when you turn the key to the on positition does the bat light come on if not it is the light,it makes a complete circuit

perhaps your battey is dead, have it checked at any service or borrow a tester and do it yourself
