PTT does refer to a blood clotting test. It sounds like there are several problems with your friends blood composition like low platelets & white blood cells. It could be connected to the bone marrow which produces the cells in the blood. Some cancers, like leukemia could explain the problem.

partial thromboplastin time aka PTT. This just refers to her blood clotting time. It has nothing to do with bone marrow. They do this blood test usually when a person is taking coumadin to thin the blood.

This is probably a familial hereditary bleeding disease due to low amounts of clotting components.
