I thought this guy was showing interest in me - he'd do favors for me, talk to me all soft and sweet and did double takes when he saw me - so I asked him out, and he agreed to go (he even blushd and grinned like a little boy) but I should've known I wasnt ready to date yet. (Selling the house, drama with the ex, etc.)

I see him two months later and remind him of that date. He stands real close to me, softly tells me "To be honest...."
he's in a relationship now, it's not "official" and so on, and so on. I nodded my head and was about to walk away, the strange thing is he kept going on about it "I'm out of the game, I'm not in the market anymore" then he says "Thanks for the offer though, I appreciate it"

I GOT IT DUDE!! I understand.

Why'd he feel the need to go on and on with the explanations?

Hmmm...maybe as an excuse to cover his actions? Sounds like you know you deserve better. Don't let one fish eat your bait...keep fishing cause their are plenty of them in the sea....just don't let them tip your boat over ;)
