Are all mom's like this..or just my mom? She forbides me to do anything to my hair...and my friends helped me highlight it...i was bored with my hair..and hadn't done anything to it for the longest time. My boss tells me my hair gets better everytime see she's it.

......my mom hates it when i do anything to change my style....my hair...when i went and got my ears pierced more...(i have 5 in each ear now) and i've gotten 2 tattoos...

I think most moms are pretty opinionated when it comes to their daughters. Perhaps yours just doesn't want to see you grow up or maybe she's simply more conservative and having a hard time with the piercings, etc. I don't think hi-lites should be an issue. Remind her that while you value her opinion, you have your own personal style. Do you give her fashion/hair tips? Remind her that it isn't purple or blue, for Pete's sake; they're only hi-lites. Don't sweat the small stuff.

people at work will not tell you the truth about how it looks. they will say it look great just to keep from hurting your feelings. i would trust your friends and family on this one they are more likly to tell the truth. but hey if you like it that is realy all that matters who cares what anyone alse thinks.

You mom is not like the people of your age, who are more up-to-date in fashion styles and beauty. Most parents are like that, they're very conservative and dont have much sense of styles.
