A contact lens is a foreign body on your eye. You have to give your corneas time to adjust to the contacts and to mold for perfect fit. Also the wear schedule is designed to prevent complications that could cause you major problems such as infection, corneal abrasions, corneal ulcers, etc.

Just so your eyes become accustomed to them. Things look a lot different when you first switch from glasses to contacts & the doctors want to make sure your eyes have time to adjust.

I have no idea. I just got contacts and my doctor only told me to wear them untill I felt like they we're becomming uncomfortable. I wear the Oasys kind so maybe that has something to do with it.

I've never heard of that before, my eye doctor told me to wear my first pair all day, thentake htem out at night, as I do every day. Maybe your eye doctor thinks it will help you get used to your neew contacts or something???...
Hope this helps!
