Oooooohhh Snap!!! Damn good match! I have been in box ing over 15 years & we are going to talk about that one at the gym tomorrow!I can't even call it because in their prime they were very fast but though "Meldrick" put more mustard on his punches "Sweet Pea" could slip body shots but could take a good punch too.I say Sweet Pea split desicion, hey you goota look at the way sweets beat Chavez and how he never succumd=b to Chavez will? I thought he beat Chavez{meaning Whitaker}Pernell Whitaker all the way!

I think Taylor's defense would end up costing Meldrick the fight. Whittaker's all-around game was superior as well. Whittaker 8 rounds to 4. I'm of the opinion that a prime Whittaker could beat anyone his size from any era. Too fast and awkward, and on top of that, he's a lefty. Too unique a fighter to prepare for.

Taylor wins a split. He was just as fast as whittaker, but possesed superior power.
