You have a very kind and thoughful mind. The little girl that is mixed races will love the doll and if its a mixed doll she may realise that it looks like her daddy and be very happy or she will realise that the doll looks like her and be more comfortable with her gift. I don't think the dad would object, it just gives the child more to think about. Like maybe the kid wants to be like daddy and love the doll she should be given things that represent both races so she can decide that we are all people and colour doesn't matter. I think you should get her the doll. It will make her dad happy that someone was considerate enough to give her a mixed race doll. I don't think you need to ask just give it. If you are worried about it give her a doll that is white and a doll that is black, let the child realise that the dolls are like her mommy and daddy. Children are beautiful they don't yet understand descrimination but should be introduced to both so she can understand her own situation. Love her and yourself and give her what your heart tells you too, the child and parents will be happy you cared enough to do it. Take care Heather

I would just buy the doll. The little girl is half black, right?
I usually buy my daughters who are mexican, mexican looking dolls. Although one of my daughters is darker. My kids have black dolls and white dolls with blonde hair too and my kids aren't blonde.
Whatever is on sale! lol
I think by asking u make it sound like it could be something wrong. It's a birthday gift and any little girl would play with a Bratz doll no matter color it is and I doubt he'd say anything or get offended. If the decision is that hard buy her the doll with the heads you can change, that way ur covered!
Hey, I got a baby shower card with a black baby on it. It came quite a few questions but wasn't that big of a deal! lol
Good Luck

My grandaughter has received Bratz and Barbie dolls that were black for gifts. She has two white parents--one with a small bit (1/16th) of American Indian. My grandaughter looks like the American Indian part and not like her parents. She is beautiful! Her parents weren't offended. In fact, they encourage us not to show any racism whatsoever when giving her gifts.

i think that you should ask the father of the child if it would be
all right to get the doll for her, i think that it the thought that
counts. so there will be on misunderstanding, ask the
father and then go from there.

I do not think this would be a problem (to go out and buy it) people have gotten things like that for my daughter (who is caucasion) and It does not bother me at all. As long as she would like it I see no problem. Hope this helps!
