First, let me say that until you have seen one done, you can't say either way. Watching it is a lot worse then hearing about it. It's horrible!!! They put the woman into labor, have to push out the head, then they take an instrument and jab it into the brain, whirl it around and then crush part of the skull. The babies born are usually around a pound, and most could survive outside the womb with support.
I have seen it done, and it horrified me!! I could never condone something like that, and I won't perform anything like this. Once you understand how a fetus develops, at what point they have a heartbeat, at what point nerves and brain start to develop, you would understand what abortion really does.
If you have ever lost a child due to miscarriage or still birth, the thought of a woman doing this on purpose is horrifying. I have have 2 miscarriages and a still birth, my husband and I tried for over 8 years to have a live birth. To me, I don't understand how someone could end a life of something they have felt move inside of them.
I have had to perform a few abortions during medical school, and I decided that I wouldn't do any in my practice. That's my own belief. I do believe that a woman has a choice, but that the choice should end when the baby is considered viable, which is after 12 weeks. Before that, a miscarriage could just happen naturally. After 12 weeks, the baby has a heartbeat, a brain and can feel pain. After about 24-25 weeks, the fetus could live outside the womb with support.
With all this said, it still needs to be the womans choice. But I do think there needs to be laws against partial birth abortions. I don't think they should be legal. But that is just me.

There's no such medical procedure as "Partial Birth Abortion"--it's an emotionally loaded term invented by the Pro-life movement.
Late term abortions should (and for the most part do) only occur when not having the abortion is more dangerous to the mother than having the abortion. Few, if any, would have the procedure except as a last resort
Unlike early abortions, they are seldom about "choice" but more often about medical necessity, which means that it is a medical doctor who should be making that call, not a politician.

Surveys have shown that there is no medical reason what so ever for having a partial birth abortion. I feel that all abortion is wrong for any reason, but I can see how some people can believe that it is okay if the mother's health is at risk, but as far as partial birth abortion, there are no medical benefits for the mother. So, to answer your question, no they should not be legal.

Partial birth abortion is not a medical procedure. It is a term invented by Christian and anti-abortion propaganda groups. Late-term abortions are already illegal (and rarely performed) unless the mother's life in virtually every state.

I cant believe anyone would want to drain the brain out of a fetus and rip it out of the womb...It's not something I would do, and its something I'd never have to live with. My mom had an abortion at 7 mos...So I can't judge anyone who would do it.

I believe it to be illegal because it is technicaly murder. Murder is against the law. If you don't wan't the baby just put it up for adoption instead of just killing the poor thing.
