Since AP is for advanced placement in college, it means it's not really a course level you need. It gives you an advantage for certain programs--you won't need to take certain first-year courses--but dropping an AP course should by no means be a huge deal.

sounds like the perfect high school plan. i say drop the course and spend more time having fun. high school only happens once. i was busy like a bee in high school, just like you. i got into all the schools i wanted but ended up going to a school that didn't even care what i did in high school. as long as your heavy in the arts - you'll get into your film school. keep up with the english and math, and take some computer and photography courses.

your only a sophmore so you have plenty of time to make this drop look semi-irrelevant with your future grades.

HOWEVER, film school is VERY competative, and many peoples resumes look like yours, especially for the top film schools, so in the long run it might hurt you.
