How does a cavelry scout get their spurs?? I know that there are things called "Spur Rides" but how do they earn them in a combat setting??

per hubby: you must be in a combat setting for more than 30days assigned or attached to a Cav unit. Combat spurs are Gold, Spur Ride ones are silver (hubbies are gold hooah!).

A spur ride is made up of several different events including a pt test, soldier skills testing and a ruck march, etc.

I beliieve they earn them in combat and there is a tradition among the Cavalry, they have a secret ritual that they do, drinking out of boots and hats and I think maybe a few other things thrown in and at some point you take an oath of loyalty to the cav just like a knight did in ancient times

The only way I know of is to attend a spur ride.
