About 8 minute dating or other dating events?

I am a single men trying to get back into the dating scene. I have been thinking about attending and 8 minute dating event. I was wondering has anybody tried 8 minute dating? If so did you enjoy yourself? Would you attend other 8 minute dating event? What was the dress code? Are there other dating events that I could try out?
