I just went to the store and bought Lipton's Pomegrante/Cranberry Green Tea? How good is it for you in terms of antioxidants (100mg, apparently)? What kind of oxidants does it have (like memory, cancer-thwarting, etc)?

In several human clinical trials, the juice of the pomegranate has been found effective in reducing several heart risk factors, including LDL oxidation, macrophage oxidative status, and foam cell formation, all of which are steps in atherosclerosis and heart disease.
Research suggests that pomegranate juice may be effective against prostate cancer[9][10] and osteoarthritis.[11]
Green tea has been credited with providing a wide variety of health benefits, many of which have not been validated by scientific evidence. These claims and any for which academic citations are currently missing are listed here:
Stopping certain neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's [1]
Preventing/treating cancer [2]
Treating multiple sclerosis [citation needed]
Preventing the degradation of cell membranes by neutralizing the spread of free radicals (which occurs during the process of oxidation). [3]
Reducing the negative effects of LDL cholesterol bad cholesterol by lowering levels of triglycerides and increasing the production of HDL cholesterol good cholesterol. [4]
Increasing fat oxidation (helps the body use fat as an energy source) and raising metabolism. [5]
Joy Bauer, a New York City nutritionist, says [the catechins in green tea] increase levels of the metabolism speeding brain chemical norepinephrine.[6]
Japanese researchers claim if you drink five cups of green tea a day, you'll burn 70 to 80 extra calories. Dr. Nicholas Perricone , an anti-aging specialist, appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show and told Oprah's viewers they can lose 6 lbs. in 10 weeks drinking green tea instead of coffee [7]. However, the maximum calorie density of stored fat is 3500 calories in a pound [8] thus 75 extra burned calories per day requires 40 weeks to loose 6 lbs.
There is some use of cranberry juice by people with spinal paralysis; regular consumption of the juice is supposed to reduce the rate of urinary tract infections. While much of the evidence is equivocal, a number of double-blind clinical trials have been carried out that suggest there actually is an effect: a component of the juice appears to competitively inhibit bacterial attachment to the bladder and urethra[4] allowing the bacteria to be flushed out more easily.

I have the Republic of Tea version of this tea (Pomegranate Green tea), and it tastes very good. I think tea in any form is a very good nutritional drink. I think the pomegranate not only adds antioxidants, but makes it tastes extra good.
The benefits of tea has been stated, so I will not state them, just state that tea even as a replacement to energy drinks, soda, or coffee is a good decision for anyone.
I would also suggest some of the white teas that are out there that have supposedly have more antioxidants than black or green teas because of less processing. The white teas also come in great flavors.

Chemically, inexperienced tea isn't all that a lot special from black tea. Black tea is only a cooking method that's performed to the golf green tea leaves. Tea has antioxidant homes that look to be well towards melanoma. It is a supply of caffeine, albeit now not a powerful one. Other matters are lovely refined. It appears to be a lovely well drink, despite the fact that there isn't plenty of exact clinical evidence for this.

Thanks for mentioning the brand name. I will search for it. Green tea, cranbarries and pomegranates are all supposedly good for cleansing the system. As to exactly how much benefit they provide, I don't know. I'm currently drinking a TrueBlue blueberry & pomegranate cocktail, which is supposed to be very good for the system, too. A nice change from who knows what is in so much of our food.
