Fig, I disagree with the way you follow my logic. If everyone understands the word no, it does not mean everyone will comply with that word. If God wanted everyone to follow one path, it would be within the power of God for everyone to know what that path was, without human interpretation or misinterpretation. Free will and choices would not have to be eliminated. Just as most people know it is illegal to murder, yet many people do it anyway. If God made the religion that God wanted universally understood than people would know it was from God and not just summarily dismiss it as the word of man. For me it is easy not to follow the bible because I do not believe it comes from God. If I knew it came from God, if everyone knew, we still would be free to follow or not.

Man wrote the bible.
Man thought up the bible.
Believe me this god the christians speak of is a egotistical maniac, so if he wrote it you could be sure he would make it undeniable that it was his work alone.
Simple fact is he just dose not exist!

O my friend, read the Qu'ran you will see
[010:057] O mankind! There has come to you a good advice from your Lord (i.e. the Qur'ân, enjoining all that is good and forbidding all that is evil), and a healing for that (disease of ignorance, doubt, hypocrisy and differences) which is in your breasts, – a guidance and a mercy (explaining lawful and unlawful things) for the believers.
[010:058] Say: "In the bounty of God, and in His Mercy (i.e. Islâm and the Qur'ân); – therein let them rejoice." That is better than what (the wealth) they amass.

God isn't the one that made different religions. People are responsible for that because of their inability to agree on what the word of God said.

God didn't make religion, humans did in an attempt to understand him. and as another answerer said, god's true language is love and we all can understand that, with or without religion.

Or to follow your logic a little further ...
Why didn't God just make us robots so we would not have a choice to sin????
Actually, just in case you are really interested in an answer and not just showing off your ignorance...
Look at the big picture of how Christianity spread. With the capture of the Jews (Northern and Southern Israel) and their being transferred to other parts of the world prior to 800 B.C. The primary people that worshipped the one true God was dispersed around the known world at that time. Later came Alexander the Great that conquered most of the known world during his time -- he gave the world a common language, Greek (the New Testament was originally written in Greek). After him came the Romans that built roads and made travel within most of the known world possible.
Of course during the Roman times, Jesus came and brought a new covenant to the people of the World and sealed it with His death & resurrection. After He was resurrected, during the holiday of Pentecost, thousands of Jews that where in Jerusalem for the holiday converted to Christianity. Many returned to the countries from where they came shortly after the holiday, teaching their family and others. Many others remained behind to further grow in their faith. However, the Romans began to persecute the Christians causing them to return to the lands from where they came where they no doubt taught others. The Apostles Paul and Peter also went out to the Gentile nations teaching about Christ.
So ...Paul could write in Colossians 1:23 "If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister"
At that point in history the Word of God had been preached throughout the world.
Did everyone believe it then? ...obviously not. Just as most people in the world still do not believe God's Word today even in their own language.
People all over the world have the innate desire to find the meaning of life (where did I come from, why am I here, where am I going). God's Word is available to whomever earnestly seeks it...
"The Bible continues to be the most translated book in the world. The following numbers are approximations. As of 2005, at least one book of the Bible has been translated into 2,400 of the 6,900 languages listed by SIL,[1] including 680 languages in Africa, followed by 590 in Asia, 420 in Oceania, 420 in Latin America and the Caribbean, 210 in Europe, and 75 in North America. The United Bible Societies are presently assisting in over 600 Bible translation projects. The Bible is available in whole or in part to some 98 percent of the world's population in a language in which they are fluent."

Of course it would have been better for most people if God had made us robots so they would not be able to make the wrong choices in their lives.
Think about it -- figure it out.
UPDATE --
Sonja A ,
Thanks for the additional input. It helps to begin to see your idea more clearly. Here is some more information for you to help your quest for knowledge.
Above, I have shown that God's Word is available to everyone in the world that wants to seek it. Yes, I believe God's Word is the Bible.
Most people outside of the FAITH of General Evolution, can recognize that nature's evidences point to intelligent design just as most all the world's peoples have since the beginning of time. So we can understand there IS a God. Once we figure out there IS a God, we begin to search for things ABOUT God.
I believe the only resonable explanation lies in the Bible. There is no other book like it -- neither before now nor now.
It is actually a collection of 66 books, written by 40 different authors from many different socio-economic backgrounds and from many locations over a period of about 1500 years. The Old Testament was written mostly in Hebrew and Aramaic. The New Testament was written in Koine Greek (common Greek was the "world dominant" language at the time thanks to the conquests and spreading of the Greek culture by Alexander the Great).
"Yet, it fits together into one cohesive story with an appropriate beginning, a logical ending, a central character, and a consistent theme." (http://www.christiananswers.net/q-aiia/b...
Is God limiting His power by requiring His creation to seek Him rather than spoon feeding His Word to us? ...No. Actually, I think it shows God's wisdom in making us search for His truths -- it makes us stronger in our beliefs once we figure it out.
Think about it -- figure it out.
