People use "Jesus Christ!!!" as an exclamation of dissapointment or surprise...
How do you think Jesus would feel that people shout out his name when ever something bad or shocking happens?

And how would YOU feel if 2000 years from now, people started shouting your name out when something bad happpens?

Since Jesus didn't speak English, he probably has no idea that people are saying it.

But Jesus did have the worst thing in the world happen to him. He suffered far more than any of the other 30,000 Jews that the Roman crucified. Much, much more. And the fact that he came back to life and has been living in Heaven for the past 2,000 doesn't change that one bit.

People throughout the ages have given Jesus Christ other names to avoid over-use and over-familiarity with his name, because they loved and respected Him.

People today don't even think about what they are doing. I know if they really KNEW Him, they would never speak His name with that kind of disrespect.

Or when something good happens.

He would have thought nothing of it. Yeshuah, or Jesus, was one of the most common names of that period. Furthermore his last name wasn't Christ. Christ is a title, the anointed one. Jesus would not have associated himself with this title... it was given to him by his followers long after his death.

He probably would have thought it was funny... his name followed by such a heavy title. I know i'd laugh if someone near me shouted "Holy John! this is messed up!"

You shouldn't use the lord's name in vain. That's what I was taught. I get a little upset when people substitute Jesus Christ for a derogatory term, just like people would be upset if I was like Damn ___ and filled in a term describing them. But, since Jesus is so forgiving, and knows our hearts better than we do, I don't guess he would mind. I think he'd just be a bit disappointed that we don't manager our anger better. Come on, the guy died on the cross for your sins. What more do you want?

i think when plp shout Jesus Christ, it not because they feel the Jesusu was the cause of the misery that occured ..rather the shouting is done with a hope that somehow by saying HIs name, jesus would actually be able to take the misery away.

Why would I care what i think about someone using my name as a cuss word 2,000 years from now? I'd be long dead by then, so even if I was important enough to be remembered for something, I couldn't do a thing about it.

I would be dead 2000 years from now, so I am guessing I wouldn't give two shits about it. Also, I think he would have been quite amazed if he was told 2000 years from now he would be worshiped as the number one religion in the entire world (especially if you told him what the entire world actually consited of) and that some people would use his name in momentary brashness. Right now I don't think he is thinking too much of it, because I did the math and 2000 years is too long for somebody to live and worry about it, so he is dead now and probably isn't caring too much, cuz you know, he's dead.

actually, there is a perfectly logical explanation for it...Even "athiests" know deep inside that there is POWER in that name ! As proof....try this....I did and it works EVERY time!in a bar or club or similar place, where NOone speaks english...Shout out "Buddah"...then "Muhammed" and watch the reaction....almost nothing except a few stares like you lost your marbles...Then shout "Jesus Christ"...The WHOLE place goes instantly quiet ABSOLUTELY EVERY TIME !!!!!!!

He seems like he was a pretty good person, so he probably couldn't care less about people saying his name. And, I wouldn't really care if people did the same with my name.

*Hasn't your mom ever called out your full name when she's upset? Does it upset you that much?

Well, IF I was around in 2000 years and resonated with the name it might be one thing. However, I doubt I will be around. Probably living far far far away!
