Menu foods is recalling numerous amount of canine and feline wet foods from certain dates.
Im not sure wheather i should trust any food distributed by any of the companies mentioned on the recall list.
It can be a possibility that dry foods and other uncalled wet foods may be infected. After all, 'they still don't know what is having these animals become sick and deceased.'
So, does anyone have any real aproved information on wheather dry foods (Iams specially) is infected?
However, I will gradually change my 1 year old felines food but, damage wouldalready be done.
But, dry foods seems to be on the safe side of this horrible predictament.
Opinions?

It is best to feed the animals dry food anyway. But to keep kitty happy, I would start making my own soft food on occassion. That is what I plan to do anyway.

I haven't trusted any of these companies even prior to the recall. All major, companies that don't produce pet food exclusively, contract out the production of their foods and use inferior ingredients that aren't fit for human or animal consumption.

People need to start realizing that these foods (Iams, Science Diet, Purina, Pedigree, etc) are garbage. and their companies (Proctor and Gamble, Mars, Nestle, Palmolive-Colgate) use the cheapest ingredients possible and don't even care where they come from. There is NO quality control within these companies.

Switch to a food that is made by a small company that specializes in holistic health. Foods like Innova, Wellness, Solid Gold, Fromm, Merrick, Canidae, etc are SO MUCH better then those cheap mass marketed foods.

Take your animals off all cuts and gravy style foods. This recall doesn't affect loaf or dry foods. Wheat gluten seems to be the culprit. Menu voluntarily recalled their products to ensure the safety of pets and people. Yes, people eat this stuff too. To be extra safe, only use dry for now.

At this point no dry foods have been affected. But they still aren't positive about what the problem is exactly. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that there is a problem with some dry foods in the future.

I raise guide dog puppies for Guide Dogs for the Blind, and they sent an update about the foods. No dry foods have been infected, only a moist foods. Iams is one of the approved foods for our pups so don't worry about feeding any dry foods.
