Freud introduced revolutionary ideas. But his ideas on religion were proven wrong very quickly, when we tried to take all things religious out of society under Communism. What happened? People turned against each other. We found that the human individual became a disposable object.... I can personally say that in Eastern Europe, we`re left with a wrecked society that`s still trying to recover.

One of my anatomy professor said that cancer cells are like the communist countries. They are the "evil cells" that try to take over the body like the communist countries did!

So does the cell give life to the Human or the Human give life to the cell? What happens when a cell "doesn't believe" in the body? It looses contact and forms a tumor.

The same with Humanity in relation to God. No?

**ps, apologies for the ignorant comment that Freud was a heroin addict. Heroin is a synthetic substance invented after his time.

According to Sigmund Freud, man created God in order to fulfill a void of lost parenthood after an adult grows up. As history shows though, not all of Freud's theories hold up against the science we have today.

But if the latter is true, how can one explain why people who are happy with their parents follow religion if they have no more apparent yearning for parenthood? It seems as if Freud's dysfunctional family lead to some dysfunctional theories such as this.

That's the test we're given... God created us because he created Angels to love him and He wanted a creature to love him but have a choice. Does it matter if we created something to believe in, something that makes us feel needed?? I'd like to think so... if there isn't a God, then it begs the question again... Why are we here??

Man has a need to know and understand All those years ago, they were unable to understand what was around them. Why the stars shone, why trees grew, why salmon swim upstream. It was far easier to say that there was some omnipotent force responsible, then to let their heads explode from overworking. As we evolve, we understand things more clearly and the need for a all in one answer is gone.

Well, think of it this way. You have even Charles Darwin having said that if the living Cell is more complex than we at first thought (so more than just a cell wall and a nucleus but the things inside the nuclei, the mitochondria, etc), "then," said Darwin, "all the theories I have are completely false." Take a book for example. Can you judge how good, interesting, moving, compelling an book is based simply on its paper, binding, spine, etc quality? NO!! OF COURSE NOT! Likewise with us. We cannot simply say that we have complex systems with DNA that contains more information on each single strand than the entire Encyclopedia Britannica (sp?) set of books and overlook the information part. So you have a book that is blank. How are the words going to get there? By ACCIDENT...RANDOM CHANCES? No. Same with the DNA. You have information that could NOT have gotten there by itself no matter what the scientists say. In fact, all of the famous evolutionists avoid this part of the argument LIKE THE BLACK PLAGUE!!! God put it there and God made us.
If we created God, then what the heck are we doing confined on a planet we would likely change in at least 100 different ways to our own liking, and in bodies so fragile and limited that we have to design mechanical objects to help us do nearly anything anymore. If we created God then let's create some wings (wouldn't you like to fly? I would), some telepathy(I always wonder what the cute girl is REALLY thinking when I walk by), change the shape of our face whenever we want like Mystique on X-Men. LOL No, God created Us. That is the way it is. I don't like being accountable for my actions either. But that is how it is. God, believe it or not, loves us more than you can imagine. In broad daylight, a 40 watt bulb is dim, but in complete darkness, you turn the same light on and it is blinding. There is bad in the world because of sin. God does much more good than you realize and it is easier to see in a dark world. I choose to follow Him who died for me even while I was still a sinner. While I was still having fun doing drugs, seducing any girl I felt like seducing, and looking out for me, he died for me. He did the same for you. He made it easy. All you have to do is leave behind all that sin, choose to follow Christ, believe that He died and rose again for us all and forgave you of all your sins, and waits anxiously for you to run into His open arms. Every time a person gives their life to Christ, the Angels in Heaven cheer and jump for joy....every time for every one. He made you, He knows you, and He loves you... Believe it!

man created god because to think that we are alone is a very daunting prospect to comprehend.

the fear of our own mortality has meant that we have had to create an after life and religions that encompass that to believe in.

after all, who wants to believe that the end is really the end.
