Hi,

I realized most people used a password in windows login as a way to protected their outlook. However, in personal computer where my PC is almost logged as me all the time, I need a better way to protect my emails.

Does anyone know any program that can prompt a password if we open the outlook program ?

thanks

It's not checking a new email that is worried me, it's people looking at old/history email/schedule/contact that worries me. This is why sometime webmail is better than outlook.

If you're using Microsoft Outlook, you can password protect your personal folders (.pst file). This will protect your OLD MAIL. Each time you open Outlook, you'll be prompted for the password. The instructions are at the link below.

The Outlook client application allows for saving your password (I think this is the default behavior). What you will want to do is disable saving your password so that you have to enter it when trying to access your MS Exchange server. Depending on what version you have, the location of changing this may differ. For MS Outlook 2003, I can go into Tools-Email Accounts and then select the account, then change the properties of the account. I would then uncheck the "remember password" box. If you use a local PST file you will want to password protect that too and then disable the "remember password" for it as well, otherwise people will be able to see any locally stored email.

Why not consider setting up multiple accounts so that each user can use their own profile on your personal computer?
