I've always wanted to be a navy seal, but with the wars nowadays, i just can't help but wonder if the profession has lost its prestige as we are fighting useless wars. Would it still make a good career?

First off, I doubt anyone in any of the services would ever
say a negative thing about a Navy Seal or Army Ranger. They are the elite fighting force of the U.S. and are hugely respected for not only for what it took to get there but also for the risks they take in all of our names. I think the average American is bright enough to realize the same thing.
Would it make a good career....It would be training that would enhance your abilities in many areas. I would imagine it is a short service span compared to the regular Navy but it should provide you with the leadership qualities that anyone would want

First, Navy and SEAL are capitalized. The military has not lost its prestige. It is still among the most honorable professions a person can undertake. If you are not sure of its prestige, and want to think about the politics of warfighting - you have no business among warriors. It's a good career, but probably not for you. However, if you still want to wear a uniform, check with UPS.

Just why do you think the navy has a SEAL program? If you want a low risk job with prestige join the Peace Corps.

THE PRESTIGE COMES FROM SERVING YOUR COUNTRY. If you get tangled up in your opinion of a war you have no business being in the military to begin with.
We do things because we are told to and we do that because we believe in a cause greater than ourselves.
A good career for you would be working at a starbucks because the first time you brought that thought up to your fellow soldiers, they would leave you for dead.

Why don't you take a number for the War With Prestige?
Sit down. Wait for it.
Meanwhile better men than you will keep doing missions.
It is good to have balance in the universe don't you think?

From what I saw of some of the training...you probably do not fit the profile to be a Navy Seal...you sound kinda of whiney...no offense, just telling it like it is...
