What's the question? If you're looking for a cure, there really isn't one, but you can prevent the condition from getting worse by switching to an ultra-soft toothbrush or a Sonicare.

I had receding gums a few years ago and here is what I did that seemed to solve the problem:

1) I got a Sonicare toothbrush. My dentist recommended it. It was expensive but I figured it that it was worth it to prevent my teeth from falling out.

2) I started using "mouthwash" every day. You know like Listerine or what ever. No particular brand name. Mostly the ones that "burn" when you use them. Those "antiseptic" mouthwashes that burn surely must be killing SOME germs.

3) I use toothpicks after I eat out. There are some spots where food gets stuck between my teeth. I've learned not to wait to brush. I keep toothpicks in my car now and use them immediately every time I feel something stuck between my teeth.

I can't really say which of the above three changes made a difference. One or all of them made a BIG difference. They were all fairly easy to do.

I can tell you that my gums have stopped receding after I made the above changes. The last few times I had my checkup the dentist found that my gums were no longer receding. But I didn't need him to tell me that: I could see for myself.

Sonicare toothbrush, heavy duty (it stings!) mouthwash and toothpicks when you eat out. It did the trick for me. Hopefully it will do the trick for you too.

Take care!

ionic toothbrush, not sonic

Plaque is stubborn because it has a positive polarity, while teeth have a negative polarity. This means that plaque is attracted to teeth, much as dust is attracted to objects in your home. The hyG Ionic™ Toothbrush breaks this ionic bond by temporarily reversing the polarity of tooth surfaces. As you brush, plaque molecules are actively repelled by your teeth and drawn to the hyG’s negatively charged bristles, even in hard to reach places in your mouth.

Yes, I had gum surgery once already. They scrape tissue from the roof of your mouth and sew it on your gums, but not everyone has to have that done. They told me I scrub my teeth too hard. floss everyday and use listerine diluted with water and swish for 30 seconds everyday

One of the reasons why gums recede is because maybe you are brushing too hard.Another is gum problem. Also, gum recession happens when you are in your elderly years.I suggest, you avoid brushing TOO HARD and use soft bristle toothbrush.

Gum recession may be caused by physical trauma ie: brushing too hard. Try to hold your brush between your thumb and forefinger to gently brush and not press too hard....I switched to an electric brush that turns off if you press too hard (sonicare).
