If you mean why don't we hang out with parents, well some of us do. Me and bro and my dad and step mom are always hanging by the pool or on cold days the hot tub, we go hiking in the Columbia river gorge trail system and for walks in the woods behind the house, to the island beaches during the summer, camping - all kinds of stuff. I guess some teens think parents are lame or stupid or something though. But I like mine

I am 56 and have heard this. If we loved our kids as deeply and adoringly at teens as we did when they were like 3, when they left home, parents would die of broken hearts and so would kids. It is a breaking away time, a time for the young person to move into adulthood and they usually vacillate back and forth. One day want "mommy" and one day want mommy to disappear.

well probably because adults think with an adult brain and teenagers think, if they think at all think with a teenagers brain, No comparison. When you become an adult you will know what im talking about. And they can get along with adults. I have teenagers as nephew, neices and friends with teenagers and i get along with them, These teenagers have respect for their aunt and uncle, that helps a great deal, and we always have a good time when we are together. They come to our house on their own, always enjoy thier company.

Because teens don't realize the danger that is out there so when patents try to talk to their kid it goes in one Esra and out the other.

it's normal.. i remember my parents wanted to take me to the movies but i would rather be with my friends.. it's all about growing up.. you will have to leave the nest someday and you are learning to trust your own judgments.. they will help you through it i bet.. just have patience with them and learn from some situations you will get yourself into and they don't agree...
