I had two society finches and one just died?

I really didn't what another one. Is it alright if it stays alone in the cage or does it need another finch? I have a cockateil, can I put them together?

Don't put them together, the cockatiel can seriously injure the finch with one nip, but you can put the cages next to each other for company.
