Why would he leave millions of people in the dark for that long? If he had allowed salvation right after the sin wouldnt the world be better off? I don't understand why, if there is a loving, all knowing, all powerful God he would not want everyone to know the truth. I would. I wouldn't want anyone to suffer what humans have been through.

It's all part of God's plot. See, he exists outside of space and time, and there for doesn't give a **** how long people have to wait.

It may even be more than 4000 years before Jesus' arrival. Remember from the day Jesus told his disciple that his second coming will be the sign of the end times. Every one thousand years people have been anticipating the end times. During those cycles many wars have come and everytime there is war and disasters people thought it was the end already. This time another speculated end times is being watched and even coinciding with the Mayan prediction on the 2012.
If you will read the Book of Jonah, you will find that God does have a change of mind. All the Prophets of the Old Testament have warned people of the coming ends with them telling the people to repent. In Jonah, after hearing him said thsoe warnings, the people of Nineveh put on sackcloths, did fastings and made offerings and refrained from doing things against God's commandments. God changed His mind and saved Nineveh.
You have seen the sufferings of men but have not been counting the offenses they are making against God. Do not beleive that Jesus have saved all the people of the world. It was deception by the Religions. After the Exodus, God made a decree that those who sin shall die and no one will be answerable for anyone's sin but himself. Read Deuteronomy 24:16 and Ezekiel 18:3-26 it will tell you that there is no need for Jesus to die for mankind. His dying was a deception. It was even a punishment from God ...www.thename.ph

If God would have allowed salvation right after the first sin what lesson would we and everyone else have learned?

When Adam and Eve were tempted an issue of His Soverignty(God's right to rule) was raised. Satan stated that man did not need their Creator to live. By doing so Satan called God a liar, and claimed that mankind would be better off without God's rulership.(Genesis 3:2-5)

God does want us to know the truth. That's why he provided the Bible for us to learn about Him and what his future plans are reguarding suffering.

Humanity had to run it's course. Don't you read the parables of the wheat and the weeds? The binding of the tree stump, along the appointed times when Jesus assumed full control over Earth? A time has to be set aside for a trial before judgment can occur. Jehovah didn't even have to wait 10 minutes in executing Satan for being rebellious in the first place, yet issues must be settled in a timely manner.

The thing that you do not understand is that God is timeless. For Him, there is no tomorrow, no yesterday. A day is as a thousand years to God, and a thousand years as a day.
He is timeless. When He began the thing, He had already finished. Only his creations wait through time to find out what will happen and when.
God is God. He is not bound by the laws of time and space as we are. Most men cannot even begin to fathom even a little about God. That is why we study. There are many mysteries of God that we as humans will never know, and CAN never know.

Very good question. Immediately after the fall God already made plans to restore lost humanity. The Bible is actually a history of God's saving acts to redeem mankind which ends with the coming of Jesus Christ.
Peace and every blessing!

Well if you believe Jesus to be a messenger, (as I do in my religion), then it would make a lot more sense. Basically, God sent many messengers, both before, after, and including Jesus (ie Moses, Noah). Humans were never left "in the dark," as God has in fact sent various messengers throughout time for each generation/place on earth, Jesus being only one of many.

God was still active after Adam and Eve and before Jesus. They people of that time had Moses and Abraham and other people to teach them about God. So they were not in the dark. They coudl earn salvation by following the commandents.

first, I would say, that from Adam to Jesus is more than 32 generations, lets just say 4,000 years after Adam you have Noah and the flood. not to mention the universal law of cause & effect or what comes around goes around. have you not seen "The Secret" by rhonda byrne it states that if you send out good deeds then that will return to you, and vis versa. even if a Jesus did come why are there no eye witness accounts of him or his mission. trying to figure out this one will make you powerfull as a GOD suffer not the MIND. ITS a terrible thing to waste.

God will wait until God is ready to come back. He's given us the truth, not everyone chooses to believe it. When you have God in your heart, you can get through anything in life. He is there for you. Salvation is there for anyone who accepts it. All you have to do is ask for it. It's really quite simple.

A thousand years is like a day to God.

So He only waited 4 days.

I also agree with Deep Sky.

Moses wrote about Jesus and Abraham long for the day for Christ to come.
