The Tylenol potentiates the pain relief that you get from the Oxycodone. I'm sure you were switched because of the possibility of liver damage from taking the Tylenol in the Percocet long-term. Other than that, the Roxicodone and the Perocet are exactly the same drug. You could try taking a Tylenol every now and then with your Roxicodone or even an Advil or Aleve. I take Oxycontin and Oxy IR for my chronic pain, and I find taking an Aleve or Lodine (a prescription anti-inflammatory med similar to Aleve) with my breakthrough med when the pain is at its worst helps immensely.

As long as the Roxi 15mg is 15/500 (the acetaminophen) then it is equivalent to 2 of the Precocet 7.5/325 pills. If you do decide to use 2 tablets you will have to either inform you MD about you decision....or try to explain to him/her later why you need a refill sooner than taking just the one Roxi 15mg as prescribed. And if you already have a refill on your prescription the pharmacy will not refill it a head of time. Best to let you doctor know if the 1 Percocet isn't relieving you pain and see if your meds be adjusted.

Good luck with you pain control.

While the amout of oxycodone is technically the same in both doses you need to remember the percocet has the added tylenol with it which may make a difference to you. Also you need to compare the dosing schedule of now vs then to see if you might be having break through pain.
