The A C L U, no longer stands for the rights of Americans. So should the A just be dropped ? Should the A be replaced with a H ( Hispanic ) ? or should the A be replaced with a M ( Mexican )

Yes, unless your name is Rush Limbaugh and the ACLU takes up the case on your side. The ACLU protects the constitution and is a valuable asset to this country instead of trying to undermine them you should join them in this endeavor. Protecting the constitution that is.

So marionddoc, ACLU is so fantastic then why did they go after the Boy Scouts on several occasions for not letting gays be scout masters, and for involving God in their pledges? Now mind you, the Boy Scouts are a private organization, not a government one. Why do they go after anything to do with mainstream Christianity? Why do they go after any town wanting to get some protection and relief from illegal immigration? Can towns not enact their own ordinances? Yes, I believe they can. So if the ACLU is so wonderful, then why are they not working on behalf of the Americans they purport to be for to make the Federal Government do their Constitutional job of fulfilling the will of the voter, in which over 80% were found to want action on illegal immigration. Why Marionddoc will they not help US, the Americans?
I can teel you why, they are as corrupt as Mexicos government and are only in the game for themselves and their 15 minutes of fame, which, by the way was really over the day they attacked the Boy Scouts of America.
They need to be called something, but that is not fit for viewing here. I think they need to be deported somewhere, but I'm afraid the host country would want to send them back after about a month!!

I'm not an immigrant. Some of my ancestors were over the last 300 or so years but some have been around this part of America for at least 3,000 years. That is long enough to make me a native in any fools book. As far as the ACLU goes they stopped defending all Americans' right when they started attacking the Christmas Nativity scenes. Sorry but Christians are Americans tambien(also) and they deserve to have their rights to practice their religion protected just like everyone else!!!!

Let them keep the ACLU letterhead, it's cheaper then fighting them in court!
Face it, they stopped defending law abiding American Citizens a long time ago (the 60's ... before? after? Who cares!)

The ACLU is in itself a good organization, it is just that those in charge of it need to learn how to read; and have a sense of loyalty and moral understanding before opening their mouth against our country and it's CITIZENS. It is to protect Americans, not illegals. Babies who were aborted were also Americans whose rights were not protected. It seems that they have been taken over by Special Interest Groups that are not necessarily good for the common welfare of the people.
My husband and I have signed and mailed a petition to help stop the abuses of the ACLU.

It's unbelievable that some people actually think the ACLU exists to protect all Americans. American citizens are the least of their concerns, unless that American happens to be against everything America traditionally stands for. I don't see them protecting a Christian's right to recite the pledge, or a Christian's right to pray in silence, or trying to enact laws that make it a hate crime for a minority to attack a non-minority, even if blatant racism is obviously the motive.

I was wondering the same thing.The ACLU is up in Scranton,Pa. trying to overturn the proposed (Hazleton Pa.)Illegal immigration act. Why are they there protecting the "rights" of people that are not even American citizens? I don't get it.

Great question! I agree that they should change their name because they no longer represent the rights of most Americans. But it could be the Anti-Constitutional Liberties Union... they could keep the initials then. :-)
Or it could be the TCLU - Terrorist Civil Liberties Union.
