This guy over Spring Break gave my sister this coin and said he got it defending a hill in the Army. He's kind of a creep and is now stalking her. She tried to give it back but e won’t take it and refuses to let her mail it back to him.
So I will describe this wonder coin to you now...
One side has "An Army Winner in Europe"
On the flip side edges it says "Association on the United States Army” The image is of an eagle standing on a shield. On the shield there is a torch kind of like the one the statue of liberty holds. Behind the image of the eagle there is a branch. Maybe an olive branch???
I think it's a fake and some pick up line this jerk uses.

He's telling her that there is only a 100 of these things in the world. She just met him at a night club and then later on the beach. This guy said he was told to give it to a speacial person in his life. I think he has a bucket of them and passes them out to girls.
Can anyone validate this guy’s claim or shoot it down?

You got great answers already....

But here's the short answer... yes, you can shoot down his claim. Besides what people already said about AUSA (he probably got it for joining while stationed in Germany), exactly what hill did he defend in EUROPE? LOL

The coin is real.... he's a fraud.

Yuck. What a creep.

I also say it sounds like a challenge coin. They are usually ordered and SOLD by unit associations for the Morale fund. The Challenge coin is used in the Bar setting. A member would slap his coin down on the bar and "Challenge" all members of the unit. If you cannot produce your coin, you are buying the drinks for all who did produce a coin. They are valuable momentos of service with units ad or special operations they were part of. I am a 22 year veteran of the Air Force and have approximately 75 of these coins and would not be giving them out like this guy did. That said you can design and order them in bulk for as little as $.75 each when bought in bulk.

The guy is using a common challenge coin that can be picked up for a couple of bucks if you are a member of AUSA. He didn't get it for defending some hill in Europe, since we're not in combat there.

The challenge coin itself is genuine, it is just all the stories he's spinning around it that smell of a lack of truth. You've got it right, probably a pick-up line.

The guy does sound like a jerk. Often, the people that brag most about their service (especially about displaying valor on the battlefield or performing some sort of special-ops mission) are the ones that were actually washing public monuments in Lubbock, Texas.

But, yes, it does sound like a "challenge coin" -- with enough money he indeed could make a bucketful of them. http://www.allaboutchallengecoins.com/

I am not familiar with THAT coin, however, the military gives Coins for outstanding performance in certain areas.
I would doubt that there are only 100 of this particular coin, but it might be true. They are fancy enameled coins.
Yes, it probably is a pick up line, but I doubt that he has a bucket full of them, but he probably has at least a handful.
Unfortunately, outstanding performance in ONE aspect of one's life does NOT preclude them being a jerk!

sounds like a challenge coin to me......military members are given these for their units and when they do something exceptional, theres also some that can be bought on military bases but they are like rank and things like that. the one your describing sounds like it was made for a specific army unit for doing something exceptional. which means hes probably not lying they only make as many as there are people involved in those cases most of the time. ive never heard of a military man giving one up that easily to a girl he met in a club though lol hes either nuts or your sister really entranced him.... my husband has about 60 of them (half earned, half bought) and he doesnt let me touch most of them .....he may be a creepy stalker but more than likely a legit one.

You do know that any united states which has a U.S. base, helps it by ability of settlement / treaty Its no longer like the united statesA. invaded and refuse to leave. Even in Afghanistan the U.S. and Allies are there by ability of the invitation of the Afghan authorities. maximum countries the position U.S. bases are positioned do not have any problem with the human beings being there, brings a lot of money into the community monetary equipment. and considering that the accurate of the chilly conflict the U.S. defense force has been downsizing its overseas bases
