Listen compassion is a BIG word. Do I feed the hungry yes, do I buy sleeping bags and tents for the homeless, yes, do I buy socks, tooth brushes and paste for the homeless yes, I rarely give them money unless the Spirit of God leads me to. I buy meals rather than give money to people standing at a corner. I could be more compassionate, I could do more, but I also have a family who needs me too. If each person who complained about the lack of compassion would zip it and put there money where there mouth is we would have a lot less homeless on the streets.
How much compassion do you have? How have you expressed your compassion? Or is that only the job of the Christians?

That's an interesting question. I usually associate compassion with suffering, and tolerance with beliefs, but after I think about it, I'm reminded of the story of the Good Samaritan. I hope I could respond like that man.

Compassion is based on your humanity and belief does not alter humanity. Belief in God should not interfere with the expression of compassion unless it is not belief in God.
All of us believe to some degree in things that are not God. Like our own perfection or our judgment. Perhaps our interpretation of the Bible. We forget that we are fallible imperfect creature and would like to assume the airs of God. These can stop compassion fast. For example, If we assume the office of Jesus Christ and judge people in their souls, with a finding of hell we may not then be able to find compassion after forsaking our humanity in guise of God's clothing.

Compassion allows us the ability to recognize the humanness in all. Without compassion there is no true understanding. It is what gives me or anyone else the ability to help another in any way that we can.

That would be an expression of understanding, not compassion, which I reserve for people who are in need of it.

By not judging them, they say their piece you say yours the words will bear fruit or not according to their mission and acceptance. My not accepting your point of view is not a reason for condemnation, if you cannot tolerate my point of view, quietly go the other way and I will do likewise
