No it is not a sin. Although a priest may say it is. Don't believe the priest. God or Jesus NEVER said anything about pot being a sin. Only MAN has said it is bad. The Bible never mentions pot. Jesus said there is nothing a man can put in himself that will defile him, only what comes out of his mouth will defile him.

What a question. Herbs do play an important part as you stated and everything has it's place. Weed is not a good for Christians to do and here is why. 1co 3:17 If any man defile the TEMPLE OF GOD, him shall God destroy; for the TEMPLE OF GOD is holy, which temple ye are. How about- 1jo 2:15 LOVE NOT the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

Whether or not the actual use of pot in itself is a "sin," is widely debated and you will never get the same detailed answer twice (with the exception of the basic yes or no or sometimes)

HOWEVER, the breaking of the law of your government is very obviously a sin as shown in both the old and new testament. I don't have my Bible with me at the moment so I can't tell you the exact scripture that states this, but it is there and if you ask a clergy member, pastor or elder or deacon or whatever they will tell you where it is....

True about the herb in Genesis. Now, its POSSIBLE that it could have been used as incense. And of course, for meditation. (Meditation is mentioned in the book also.) So, I don't really see any harm in it. It's habit forming, but definitely not addictive like cigarettes, or cocaine, or heroine, or even alcohol. There's a saying that Noah's sin was that after the flood, he indulged in his wine too much.

Well, take the verses about being consumed with wine. Why was that wrong? Because it impaired them and caused harm to their body. The same goes for smoking pot, it is known to impair a person's judgment and can cause harm to your body.

Also, there are verses about eating meat. If you do something that causes another person to stumble, you should not do that. So, could smoking pot cause another person to question whether you were a hypocrite or harm their relationship with God? If so, then smoking pot would be wrong.

properly a lot of human beings have faith that if that is there, and that if God created it, then why not smoke it ?! yet i don't think of that's what he meant it for use for.. God needs us to serve him, advance in him every day, proportion the gospel with others, and be a living testimony of his love.. If we are stoned and out of varieties, then how can we live an significant Christian existence ? a lot of human beings have faith interior the daddy, son, and holy spirit... and that Jesus replaced into resurrected 3 days later, ha even the devil recognizes this.. yet that dosen't mean your going to Heaven or that Jesus lives on your heart.. human beings flow by contrast awareness and do despite pleases them or what feels solid on the 2nd. i will assure you that God does not prefer this for us. He needs us to be 'severe' on him, no different ingredient... i wish I helped :) God Bless

The bible says in Genesis 1:29-30

"God also said, Look, I have given you every seed-bearing plant on th surface of the surface of the earth, and every tree whose fruit contains seed. This will be FOOD for you, for all the wildlife of the earth, for every bird fo the sky, and for every creature that crawls on the earth- everything having the breath of life in it. I have given every gren plant for food."

So unless you intend on eating pot, (which i strongly sugest you don't. Then yes it is a sin because you are breaking the law. The only reason when breaking law, is not a sin is when it interferes with your realashonship with God or causes you to sin.

You are on the right track: And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.” -- Genesis 1: 29-30

For more than 3,500 years, cannabis/hemp/marijuana has been, depending on the culture or nation, either the most used or one of the most widely used plants for medicines. This includes: China, India, the Middle and Near East, Africa, and pre-Roman Catholic Europe (prior to 476 A.D.).

You misquote Genesis - look again - I think you know it.
When the Spirit of God fills you spirit and heart why would you need anything else?
Give all of yourself to God - the meddling with pot is rebellion, and not what God wants for you.

Opium grows freely in the part of the world that Jesus lived in. Plants were widely used for medicinal purposes.Who's to say he did not get high once in awhile as it was common practice. Now everyone don't get mad, after all he was a man.
