well strictly speaking father k has a point. since we were on this world since the dinosaurs then the last 2000 yrs could be construed as the last days . It is written that we are not to know exactly when the end of this time period comes . We are however to know the SEASON. That last sentence is biblical, check it out. We are to add 72 yr to the year 1948. That is the yr 2020. But there is a hint to subtract 7 yrs from that . Or it may have already been subtracted LEAVING 72 yrs. You see we don't know for sure, that is why we are not able to know when the end is exactly. that is why I say the SEASON is between 2013 and 2020. Hey check it out!!

Certainly. When on earth, Jesus left a description of what the last days would be like. At Matthew 24:6-24 he said, "YOU are going to hear of wars and reports of wars; see that YOU are not terrified. For these things must take place, but the end is not yet.For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be food shortages and earthquakes in one place after another. All these things are a beginning of pangs of distress. Then people will deliver YOU up to tribulation and will kill YOU, and YOU will be objects of hatred by all the nations on account of my name. Then, also, many will be stumbled and will betray one another and will hate one another. And many false prophets will arise and mislead many; and because of the increasing of lawlessness the love of the greater number will cool off. But he that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved. And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come."

Don't we see all these things in the world today? In fact, occurences of wars, earthquakes, food shortages, and pestilences have escalated in recent years.

And the last aspect of the sign, the worldwide preaching of the good news of the Kingdom, is occuring now in over 230 lands. So we are indeed close to the end of this old system of things!

Yes! We are definitely living in the last days of winter 2007! But what does that have to do with the world ending?

Yes. Here's why:
2 Timothy 3:1-5, 7

"1: This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

"2: For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous [keeping up with the Jones], boasters, proud, blasphemers [using the Lord's name in vain, speaking evil of Him], disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

"3: Without natural affection [cold & mean], trucebreakers, false accusers [liars], incontinent [lacking self-control], fierce, despisers of those that are good,

"4: Traitors, heady [reckless], highminded [conceited], lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God;

"5: Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away...

"7: Ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth."

Sound familiar? The apostle Paul was describing the time just before the return of the Lord.

The reason I want the earth as we know it today to end?

Isaiah 11:6-9

(Isaiah's description of the earth after Jesus Christ returns and cleanses it)

"6: The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.

"7: And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.

"8: And the sucking [nursing] child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cocktrice' den.

"9: They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea."

That sounds like my kind of place.

If not, then it's just beyond the horizon or the next bend. And the world isn't going to end. The Lord will establish His Kingdom on earth for a thousand years so it will end in the sense that it will no longer be the same as it is now. It'll be a much better place.

There are many signs we are in the last days so yes I do believe we are in them. The lord hasn't told us how long they will last just the signs of what they will be like. However here are two that will be hard to miss that haven't happened yet. The temple is not rebuilt in Jerusalem and the Two witnesses haven't yet been killed and their body taken up to Christ yet. However it is written it will come upon us as a thief at night or another words most will not be prepared when The Lord does come back The people will laugh at them trying to do the warning just like they laughed at Noah untill it was too late.

No one knows except God himself. But in my opinion, yes, I believe we are. I have seen so much change in the world just during my lifetime and not for the better. I don't think God is going to put up with us alot longer. I am ready when he comes whenever it is. We are going to live with no pain, no sadness and only know happiness with God. Why wouldn't I want to live like that?

We should live our lives as if God was returning at any moment, for He could. I would prefer to be doing His will than pursuing evil. It matters not whether I or you or any mortal "wants" the world to end or not, it is very naive to suggest our will has any influence on the world's end, beginning or whatever. It's God's place to make that call. Pray now for salvation. Stop searching, you found Him, just ask Him how to live your life for Him. very easy and the serenity is so worth your humbling yourself. Don't believe me, believe Him.

I just don't understand how Christians CAN want the Last Days to happen. Jesus will only come after a great disaster, like the city of New York being replaced by a giant fireball, will be a good sign to Christians. Those left behind will be subject to unimaginable horrors. How can they want this for others?

I think ever since 'the last days' was talked about, EVERYONE has felt that they were living in 'the last days'. When I was a child and went to sunday school, I was afraid all the time, thinking that I was living in 'the last days'. I hate that my childhood was like that. I don't feel that way anymore and have not brought my kids up that way either.
