Be an example.

Be bold.

Be encouraging.

Be inspiring.

Get involved.

You would be amazed how much you can influence members of your local church just by encouraging them. You can tell with they are discouraged. Get involved. Volunteer. Don't try to build the body yourself. You are only one part. Do your function and encourage everyone else to do their funciton.

A systematic study of the Bible from Genesis to Maps would certainly help the body of Christ.

God blesses His word whenever it is preached, but He also blesses the church that preaches the whole word and not just portions of it.

Believe me, this is from experience.

I once had a young student who wanted to become a preacher, and he asked me what was my best advise to him.

I told him that he should familiarize himself with all the characters of the Bible so that he knows them as well as he knows his next door neighbor, or his best friend. Learn their habits, their weaknesses, and their strong points.

I could have also told him to familiarize himself with all the nations and what part of the family tree of Noah they came from. Learn the history of each of those descendants of Shem, Ham, and Japheth throughout all generations. These things will help you today with the things going on in the middle east. The Bible has the clues to all these things.

I have no new ideas, just the ideas that the Bible has spoken of for centuries. The body of Christ will be strengthened when we do things like love unconditionally, especially those with whom we are mad, with whom we disagree, with whom we find repulsive, when we support and care for those who are hurting, when we encourage other believers with Biblical truth, when we share the Gospel so the Body is numerically larger, and so on.

Let us become better stewards of our time, ordering our entire lives for the purpose of godliness, seeking the Lord in prayer and pursuing righteousness through the study and application of the Scriptures.

Let us put off all of the things we do which have no eternal value or which actually function to our detriment by habituating us to think and live in ways that are unbiblical.

by 'the body of Christ' I'm assuming you are meaning Christians as a whole?

you have to start with yourself. Live YOUR life according to the Golden Rule. Forgive your neighbor when they transgress you before they even ask for your forgiveness.

One thing in my own church I wish would happen in alot of churches would teach is on forgiveness. I see so many religious people and christian not forgiving that I wish that there would be classes and like retreats on forgiveness. For God teaches in the bible...forgive and you will also be forgiven. Which show's us if you don't forgive you will not be forgiven.
