My cousin and I would like to go and see what all the hub-bub is about, but we're not sure where we should and should not go with safety in mind. We don't want any trouble.

New Orleans can be a bit dicy, but the French Quarter is full of people and pretty safe. Getting to and from there is best done in a group or by cab.

I've been to new orleans for the hurricane relief and surprisingly bourbon street was hopping. My girlfriend and I wandered around for 3 weeks with no troubles. It's just like anywhere else, always be careful of your surroundings, trust no one. Dont'get yourself in a situation you can't get out of. Keep your guard up. Just normal practice safty measures. I'm sure youll have a blast. i did!

Bourbon street is safe, but watch out for some of the side streets, always stay in a group if possible.
