Well im sure shes a b*tch, but in her defense its kind of insulting to bring your friend over and ask your wife to bring you drinks like a servant. Im not saying thats what he meant to do, but thats maybe how she felt. As for your question itself, its worded a bit wrong, it should be, if in a relationship one PERSON works and one doesnt..etc etc.. The whole men need to have their dinner on the table bullshit needs to go out the window, working isnt a men thing and cooking isnt a womans requirement for her husband. I know WAY WAY more wives who work, take care of the kids, cook and clean while the husband works at the most, then complain when they have to watch the children for half an hour or take them somewhere! A lot of them i dont blame, they have more than one child and theyre a handful. But they still need to realize that this is what the wife deals with all the time, and everyone needs a break. Basically my point is, every relationship should be looked at individually, whoever (doesnt matter the gender) isnt doing their share in the relationship will probably get told hopefully soon As for your friends wife, it sounds like she feels your friend is holding something over her head, and perhaps she feels shes being almost treated like a child, being told she needs to appreciate this and that, i would probably find that insulting. I would suggest she get a job so she can feel more secure about herself

How about a baked chicken dish? With a green bean casserole, mashed potatoes/gravy to go with it? A salad with it too? (A green salad). And for dessert, maybe cherry pie, and ice cream?
You are a wonderful man to be doing this for her! And men make such good cooks too! I wish you the best. Take care.

Honestly, she'll probably be happy you are making her anything at all. Make sure you have a dessert too - most women love sweets. good luck!
