Do you agree that this is alright for salvation? He lived a pretty rough life, but one random night he cried out to God and he is still saved. Do you know denominations that agree or disagree with this?

I love the lyrics; they flow so well and really make it hit close to home. I agree that God can accept you on your deathbed. Salvation can happen just as easily at old age as it can at a young age. Just because you wasted your whole live helping only yourself and giving into temptations and subscribing to worldly ideals...does not mean that the Lord isn't happy to see you join his flock.

"The years would go by and she'd love someone else
And I realized I hadn't been loved yet myself..."

What's ironic is that the character believed no one loved him. Christ loved Him since birth, and even though it took a lifetime of sinning, pain, and hurt before he turned his life around...it was still a joyful moment as death enveloped him.

Awesome question, by the way.

I haven't heard the song but people tend to see saved in so many different ways. Matthew 7:21 and the following give clues on entrance to heaven.
