Cut down on anything acidic, like orange juice, tomato juice, tomato sauce. You don't need to cut them out completely, but just cut down a bit.
Also, sleep with your upper body propped up a bit. Using a few pillows should do it.
Milk is also helpful. If over the counter meds don't work, you can ask your doctor for Prilosec.

if you've had acid reflux for many years... a feeling of something being stuck in your throat can occur... however, i would want to have that checked out so that nasty things are ruled out...
I don't want to frighten you, but esophageal cancer sometimes presents itself as a feeling of something being stuck... and since you have or have had GERD, which can lead to cancer... I would want to get it checked out...
Once again, don't want to frighten you,, it could be other things as well.... I just want you to get to a doctor.

You may have swallowed something recently that scratched your throat and it feels like something is there. I believe acid reflux would be like a burning feeling. Hope you feel better.

if its truly acid reflux, there are meds that can help you out - it could also be heartburn though - try taking some zantac - you can buy it over the counter at your drugstore. i used it when i was pregnant - it worked wonders! good luck
