Is Tobago a good place to live? What is there to do for fun? Remember I am a young teenage american girl. What is the dating scene like there. The morals? Tell me everything! Whats the party scene like? What are the living condition? I'd really appreciate all the information I can get.

Hi,
I lived in Tobago for a while and it wasn't too bad.
As soon I finished school I moved there because I got a teaching job.
There are many jobs available but once you're qualified in some field it shouldn't be too difficult and you could get a decent apartment for about $2000.00TT dollars and up.
Our TT dollar is 6 to 1 US.
Studio apartments barely do justice so you might want to get a two room apartment.
I still know some people there if you want help in finding a place.
I seems you wanted to get away from the bustle and Tobago is very relaxed so you can use there.
To get in on night life though, you either hang out at the hotel clubs or you come to Trinidad but the key is to really know people across there nso you can get stuff goin.
I also advise too that they once called our islands the Wild Wild West because both Trinidad and Tobago have high HIV/AIDS infection rates and it just aint right to contract these diseases but you're a big girl and Iguess you old enough to take care of yourself and you'll make wise decisions with regard to your private life.
Crime levels in Trinidad are high but you shouldn't be affected if you don't get mixed up with the wrong crowd and of course be careful.
I'm Trini and when I lived in Tobago I was robbed three times.
Girl I was just mortified and pretty shaken cause I was there by myself and I wondered what would have happened if I was at home at the time... Nothing ever came of the situation but surely I was shaken up and so I'm very very careful always now even though I don't live in T'go no more.
They look at you and would tend to prey on the seemingly naive and unsuspecting I guess.
But that could be helped once you meet the right people who are genuine.
It shouldn't be too bad like I say but if you want help you can easily contact me thru this site and we'll trade addresses and I can start calling around my Tobago people.

Good luck
ily!

OK you are about to graduate then you would want a job and there are not many jobs to choose from in Tobago, next, i should tell you a little about the island, it is a very laid back place, if you like the beaches then you are in the right place for a holiday but a teenager going there to live i am not sure that you will enjoy that. There is not much besides the beaches and a few pubs for your enjoyment. Regarding the living conditions, that is OK, i suppose you can get housing to suit your price range. The morals are no different from any other place, what happens will be up to you.

Overall, i think Tobago is great for a holiday but moving there to live might not meet your expectations for 365 days of the year and getting a job might be your biggest problem.

Visit the island some time for a GREAT holiday.

Hi! If you have financial support and don't really need to work, Tobago is good for relaxing and sea-diving. The work there might be available in the tourism industry, cause Tobago caters for the tourists. About 2-3 months you'll get bored. In the sister isle of Trinidad there are a lot more vacancies & oppurtunities to get work and a place to stay. There are a lot of places to see, more entertainment and plenty discos. The population is quite mixed, so you'll have a variety of dates/ choices. There are lovely places to rent from TT$ 2500.00 -up/ month or if you decide to buy a house there are a lot of options. The morals all depend on you. If you want to go to church and live in a good community, there are places for that. If you don't respect yourself and want to live a " I just don't care life-style" there are also places for that. I don't mean to be rude or impolite but I just want you to know the truth. Whatever you decide to do or become you'll find it easier in Trinidad than Tobago. Unfortunately crime is getting worse but I am living here over 35 years and haven't been directly affected. You can also get further education in Trinidad. If you require more info, my email - smallhil@yahoo.com

I think it's a great place to live. There are a few things that you cannot escape if you go to live in Tobago (or Trinidad)
1) Carnival - the best* party on Earth
2) Football(soccer)
3) Cool, laid-back people and atmosphere. Unfortunately this may not be the best environment to work in as it can make you lazy.

Let me tell you if you want to know more about Tobago or Trinidad go to this website: www.socawarriors.net It's a soccer oriented website, but you will find many "Trinbagonians" there who will be more than happy to help you. It will also give you a great idea of the type of atmosphere that you can expect to find/experience on the islands!

Good luck with your journey.

PS: I am in no way affiliated with the above mentioned website :), but I am affiliated with this one: www.daxueyingyu.com :P

it is really quiet and easy going compared to trinidad. it is peaceful. if you are a person that is really into fast paced living, and loves partying, i don't know if you'll really like it, or might end up being bored. i hear that the morals are supposedly better. i know that the crime rate is WAY lower. but the people get by alright, apparently.

try vacationing up there. i don't know if i would actually live there, but it is a nice vacation spot.
