Was the brain condition that Lucy had that she could lost her short term memory and forgot everything each day a real condition? if so, what is it called?

To some degree, yes. Korsakoff's syndrome is the condition in which you cannot form long term memories. Its a weird condition in that your long term memories prior to the affliction are completely in tact, in fact, such a person with this condition may think that a day 20 years ago was yesterday. They can retain memory for several minutes at a time but lose it after that. I studied a guy that drank himself into Korsakoff's while in the military and every day he thought he was 20 something when he was decades older. Each day, even a few moments later, he would meet his Dr. all over again, but if you asked him about what he was doing the week before (decades ago) he was clear as a bell on details as though it trully was the other day.

yea she has quick time period reminiscence loss or longer term reminiscence loss some of the 2 . however yea its a truly thng ppl can get of direction hollywood blows it a little bit larger to make it extra intriguing
