He called around noon and left a message on my cell saying he'll look into finding a restaurant for the 2nd date and we'll meet for dinner at 7pm. I called around 1pm to say I'll be at work from 1-5pm and said I'll call him later or he could call me to let me know the location. At 6pm, I callled him to ask for the location. He returns my call at 6:30pm to say he's already at downtown and ask if he could pick me up. I said no, I'll just drive myself there since it's only half an hour away. (I don't know the guy that well. If the date goes sour, I could always leave.) I try to give him the benefit of a doubt, but on my drive to the restaurant I found his behavior to be very much inconsiderate. 30 minutes notice is just not thoughtful. The whole thing set the tone for the rest of the night. Also, he asked about what dba's in MD make? He basically wanted to know my salary. What kind of guy would ask that on a 2nd date? I told him he can google it. Anyway, that is it for him.

This is definitely a relationship you do not want to pursue. I agree, this guy is rude, inconsiderate to others, and quite frankly, void of manners. A true gentleman would never consider giving such short notice as to setting up a dinner date. He did not even ask, if you had a preference as to a favorite type of food, or favorite restaurant. The topper, was to ask you about your finances. This is not the behavior of a gentleman, hope he loses your number, and if he ever asks you out again, i am sure you can handle him. You sound as though you know what type of man you want. Good for you, don't ever settle!

It sounds like you are a very self respecting individual.

No 3o mins notice for a date is not acceptable.

No asking someone how much they make is not acceptable even if they are a close friend or family member.

You did the right thing.

Let it go and find a mature, considerate individual that is worthy of you investing time and energy in.

Same goes to the fellows, it is not a gender thing.

Good luck.

Join a volunteer group at your local Opera Company or Symphony and look for someone who loves Classical Music.
That is how you contact a higher grade of Human.

yeah, Thank goodness you ditched him. He was rude enough for giving you late notice. Even one day notice when they know about it all week is enough to piss me off. Then to try and figure out your salary. Oh hell no!
