my laptop was stolen from my house and well i do not want to make the same mistake in not having any software that will allow me to track my computer down. Does somebody know a way to do so, where all it takes is simply software installation and no monthly fees.

Lojack for laptops is my recommendation, but it's not free.

I'm sure you could infect the computer with some kind of virus that does keystroke logging and then sneds the info to your email, but I wouldn't take the risk.

Get real theft and breakage insurance.

With tracking software, all you have to do is disable the software or not connect the internet and there is no protection.

If the company cannot return the laptop to you within 30 days, you get your money back for the software.

Available subscriptions and their prices are $49.99 for 1 year, $79.99 for 2, $99.99 for 3 years and $119.99 for a 4 year term (far less than most Presidents pay). Computrace also offers other products designed for corporate/multiple laptop use.

Get your $50 or $100 back for the software after it is proven useless, such a deal. As the vast majority are not stolen how can the company lose.

I wonder what percent are actually recovered? If they would actually pay for your laptop then I would consider it worthwhile and not a gimmick.

Your computer would have to have Wi-Fi or some other wireless service in place.

It is a professional service so you will have to hire someone to do this. It requires many intracite details that a normal person would not be able to preform. And you will have to pay a fee, running a company like that would be very expensive.

The copyright to slightly of application belongs to the man who wrote it, even if he registers the copyright or no longer. If somebody else later registered a copyright to some thing he did not write, that's a criminal offense, and the unique author can bypass to courtroom to have the registration cancelled. those days, at the same time as a lot of massive application apps comprise code from many diverse resources, a majority of those arguments about "Who wrote it first?" are extremely undemanding.
