How can I Possibly Get in Trouble Here?

Here is the situation. I posted an ad on Craig's List for a casual encounter. I plan to practice safe sex, of course. A girl of 19 came on my messenger and began flirting with me. She sent me a tastefully clothed photo and she was quite beautiful. Yes, I am 45, but why not? It's not a relationship I am looking for. Then a couple of guys at work I told about it said to be careful, that the cops could be waiting for me when I go to meet up with her. Why? I asked. She's 19. If the cops are out to nab someone, why would they use the front of being 19? Of course I am not doing anything illegal, but these two co-workers are all freaked out about it. I just don't get it. Does someone know if there has ever been a case of someone going to meet a girl who was of age getting stung? Ther police would have to lie and say I was going to meet someone younger and i don't see why they would want to do that... if they want to catch REAL predators.

OK, this is not a moral question. And I am not looking to pay for it. She wants to do this. And if when I meet her she seems underage I will ask to see her DL or ID. You can play your little moral games if you want to, but I have asked a question and no one is answering it. How could I get in trouble? And wouldn't the cops have someone pose as a child if they wanted to nab someone?

Well... Do you have a webcam? Try having a "tastefully clothed" webcam conversation first... Or maybe a phone conversation. And, for the first meeting (even if you aren't looking for a relationship), meet in a public place for coffee or something.
Of course, another possibility would be to explain the situation to her and ask her to send some proof of her ID/age. Yes, it's kind of a weird thing to ask, but if she's the "real deal" and wants you as much as you want her, then she should understand. And if it really *is* the police, then I'm sure they're not going to have the time, interest, or resources to keep up the facade of giving you a fake ID or getting some fake girl to have a fake webcam conversation with you, so you're probably safe...

For all you know the girl is lying about her age and could be under 18. And the police won't care whether she lied or not. All they will see is this 45 year old wanting have sex with a teenager! Doesn't look good at all. Try finding at least an adult (over 21)

I just want to say that before you go sleep with someone young enough to be your daughter, are there none your own age? Damn, to me, that is wrong. It sounds like you are just so desparate that you would take anything that came along. I am sure you can get some f*** buddy your own age. If it is the cops and you go anyway, you could get in trouble for soliciting sex via net. Whether you were paying for it or not, they may look at it that way. You would be sooo much better off to find someone of your own age and not on the net-preferrably. Just my 2 cents.

You have to question the motives of a (very) young, attractive teenager flirting with you - presumably she knows you are 45?

And why can't you go out and have a casual fling with someone in the real world?

I say for this young girl's (she's a kid, for gods sake) sake, leave her alone. Even if she is 'flirting' with you.

I wouldn't be worried about the police, I'd be worried about your own moral standards. Find someone your own age.
