I asked this girl to prom a month ago and she said yes. She was talking to this guy but they stopped talking after I asked her to the prom. well yesterday she told me that her and that guy plan on going out but it would be strange to not go to prom with her so she said she couldnt go with me. I admit I liked the girl and was dissappointed. She called me today and apologized and said she realized she was wrong. I said its alright and I'll talk to you later. She calls me later telling me that her and that guy arent going to go out because he was still interested in his ex girl friend. She said she could go with me only if I wanted to, and she would understand if I said no. I did take it pretty hard when she said we couldn't and I still like her. Should I find someone else or forgive her and go to prom with her?

she sounds like she did everything she could to not hurt you. you have to give her points for that. some girls would have said "oh, i can't go with you i'm going with this guy" and then left it at that.
if you want to, i'd say go for it! you both deserve to have a good time.
plus, would you really want to have to ask someone else?

Well first of all you need to look at the whole situation. If you really like her and you are truley want to take her to the prom then I would. However, I would not let her know that I was desperate and had to take her to the prom. If you are thinking and have been thinking about taking someone else to the prom, then I would ask that person before I even mentioned anything to her. But it sounds like to me that she had but you on the back burner, and when the other guy was no longer interested in her, she came back to you. Personally that would have upset me and I would find another prom date. But noone can make this decision for you this is something you need to do on your own follow your heart.

If you still like the girl and want to take her to the prom do it! It is getting kind of late to ask anyone else and if you stall and mess around trying to decide, someone else may ask her and she will accept since she hasn't heard from you.
Be gracious, tell her you accept her apology and will take her to the prom. Have a good time.

a prom is a dance...it's not marriage...just take the girl to the prom and let the rest of the garbage go...dance and have a good time, then if you don't like her as much as you think, then you're only out prom tickets and a tux rental...(and dinner if it's not included)

it kinda hurt when she said that she couldn't go to the prom with you but everyone deserve a second chance especially when she already admit that she was wrong. from what her said on the phone, she really felt guilty. if you really like her, just go out with her, have fun!
