Ive had perfect eyesite all my life (37 years), but I woke up yesterday and I cant read or see the numbers on my cell phone etc. unless I hold it as far away as possible. Now I know you start goiing near or far sighted later in life, but this happened overnight .Ive also had a couple of times today where my right arm went tingly num for about 30 seconds. Also, Im a little shaky and am sort of dizzy. I take Wellbutrin and Paxil. had been taking Lunesta to sleep but it didnt really work so my doc put me on Phenergan to sleep (off label of course). My quetion is 1. is this typical symptoms for an ailment , or is this not so uncommone with people that take Phenegran?

Phenergan can temporarily weaken the ciliary muscle in your eye, the muscle that controls focusing of the eye.
The neurotransmitter that controls that muscle is acetylcholine, and Phenergan blocks acetylcholine. Stopping the Phenergan should cause your eyesight to return in a day or two. If not, see your eye doctor.
You can try over-the-counter reading glasses to help you with reading while you are on the phenergan.

Sounds like the beginning of a bad migraine. They can cause vision problems and spots or waves before the eyes. If you don't have a migraine then I might be a bit concerned. If it happened again I think I would go to the dr. just to be sure there wasn't anything else wrong.

Dr. Denessa Kelly, and myself would like to speak with you regarding your blurred vision condition. Also, are you aware of the major, major side effects of wellbutrin, paxil...
Listen, we have an approach that will help you sleep better, and will help increase your vision...
Let's talk... Any questions, feel free... I'd like to give you my number so we can talk... Or, just email me...
Sincerely,
William

if possible check your blood pressure before you call the doc so you can tell him what it is... in any case call the doc asap. if it is after hours try calling the doc's office anyway.. allot of them have answering services that will page him or a doc on-call for him. if there is no way to contact him or a doc on-call for him call the local emergency room, tell them your symptoms and the drugs your are on. you will probably need to go in to be looked at. i would say there could be something a little off with your meds and your blood pressure is probably a little high.
i also agree with what Jeye says, i didn't think of what the Phenergan could do to your eye muscles, but i would definitely contact your doctor ASAP because of the strange feeling in your arm combined with the vision problem occurring overnight.
