To make yours and their lives easier do what they say. They are just trying to protect you, and make sure your safe.

Well... it does sound as if they are over exagerating... but maybe they love you that much that they are afraid to let you go... to let you do things on your own... and no, it's not being ungrateful.. I know it can get you a bit frustrated.. but try to understand them a little... as hard as it can be.. but you gotta keep in mind that you only have parents once... and when they're gone... they're gone... and once they're gone... i know you'll rather have them bugging you about your daily stuff then see them feet underground... (let's hope that don't happen)

...I'm 21 and I have realized how much I love my parents... and instead of them bugging me.. i'm bugging them all the time.. making sure they are allright...

cause i'm afraid to wake up one day and not have them...

so think about it for a little :)

...i'm sure you rather have them sticking around bugging you for a bit lol as much as they can annoy you... they love you.. and i'm sure you love them as well

luck.

My answer would depend on a number of factors. But, if you're still living under their roof, then you should live by their rules. If, however, you're older, out on your own, doing well for yourself (self sustaining), have your own family, etc, then certainly keep close with your family but draw a line an tell them your expectations.
