Having attended retreats where I meditated for 2 hours at a time, totally 8 hours a day, for 6 days and having my legs feel like they had died and gone into gangrene; I suspect the pain of meditating constantly for 24 hours or more would be enough to send a normal person over the edge. I cannot imagine 10 days.
In regards to doing it with breaks, meal, and sleep. The depth of meditative state would be intense. There are many of the more hard core type zen monastaries that do this type of retreat for 10 days or more at a time. Often even sleeping, in a seated position, on the meditation cushions.

Psychic overload. An hour a day is usually more than enough for most people. 10 days of straight meditation would also cause you do die of thirst... As well as some bad witholding issues...

You would miss alot of life.
I really believe God wants us to be an extension of himself for others.
I think it is sometimes important for monks etc, but the rest of us?
Think about it. What value would it be for the human race and really addressing their needs.
Meditation is good but too much is a cop out from life unless you are cloistered and that is your ministry.
Prayer is also action. So prayer and action speak louder than words alone.

Somebody would come around and shave your head. Then, when you weren't looking, a cloak would be placed upon your body. A lightsaber would be involved and the Sith would suddenly and violently show up. You'd almost accidentally destroy one but you'd then remember, there's only ever two.

Well I would imagine your repressed thoughts would be bursting to think about water, food, body function and sex. Your mind on the other hand would be cooking on rocket fuel.

to be blunt..... if your meditating to achieve "enlightenment" your foolish. What makes you think we (humans) actually contain such granduer? we declare wars, we sin daily, we envy.....we cannot find enlightnenment through ourselves. enlightenment is possible however, through the Lord. your not the master of the universe. period.

You'd see the light. If you didn't, then you did it wrong and you wasted ten days.
