It is required to get usable energy from ATP:
ATP + H2O --> ADP + energy + Inorganic Phosphate.
The process is called hydrolysis. And this energy is needed for everything.

Also, water is the medium for electrolytes that are needed for nervous system function (nerve impulse transmission for muscle contraction, etc)

3 out of the 4 major ways of expelling toxins require water (bowels, kidneys, sweating). The last of the four is the liver which has other functions such as breaking down some fats.

It does clense you or whatever but it is basically just ment to keep you content untill you really need food. You have to really want it, If you start your day off with a small breakfast just think about not ruining the role you started. It will take a week to see some lbs come off then from there it's easy because you will want to finish what you started. If you want to loose weight it is mandatory you do cardio(run). I dont care what anyone says. Unless you like dieting for long periods of time.

It helps your digestive tract work more effectively.
It helps your body rid itself of wastes.
If you have a glass of water before your meal, you will feel full with less food. (While you are eating, it takes your brain 15 minutes to tell you that your tummy is full.)
