Why don't you like most Christians? I was lucky, I was raised in a Christian family that was open minded and non judgmental of other religions. Not all Christians are closed minded. I sometimes find myself believing what I feel is right, rather than what everyone else believes, and I think it's okay to do that. I may be wrong, but it is my opinion. I think it is important to follow God's rules to the best of our abilities, and to truly believe in our hearts that Jesus Christ died on the cross to redeem our sins. This is not what you believe...that's fine. Believe what you are comfortable in. Try to learn a little about Judaism, you might find that it's a perfect fit for you!!! Don't feel pressured into believing a certain concept, you can only truly believe what you are comfortable with.

Christianity is not a religion, but a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Many people get caught-up into diversity of churches in which can turn a person against God. Your faith is not base on man's false belief, but what God will offer to you. The questions you have are simply written in the Holy Bible.

You are allowing your self to be open to what man want you to believe and accept. Many non-christians are disappointed because they seek refuge in people instead of God. Never put faith in man's so-call religion logic, because they are the ones who can hurt you. Always keep in mind that there are many false preachers and religions in this world. Just because one says, "I am a christian and you all should praise the Lord" and yet the can be touch by evil.

You don't go to religions nor do they come to you. You go to the Holy Spirit, and He will answer all of your questions. He truly reveal the truth about religion practices to me. I pray you understand and I don't mean to confuse you. I believe you're reaching out to God.

God Bless

You can do whatever you want to! But if you don't give God credit for His existence by all that He's has shown in His creation according His word, the flames of hell await you!
The Holy spirit told me once,"you don't have to do anything".He mean't I should do right because of my love for the Lord Jesus. Each person's been given a will by God to choose to live by His word the bible or not. The reason there are christian's at all is because that's the way God works, thru man to bring the gospel to other's.Some christian's are distastefull,to use that word, because they have become like the pharicees-filled with the bible knowledge and self righteous.Jesus says they have their reward now.But the christian's that walk in the light, and hold Jesus a Lord?To meet them,is like meeting Jesus Himself, because, like God's commandments say to,they are filled with humbleness and humility for God's glory and the concerned desire to save lost souls for the kindom.I wish you to pray that the Lord will place these in your life to show you what Jesus is really like. All the best of God's enlightenment!

Actually, you are supposed to adjust your beliefs to what God says is true, not the other way around. Sorry.

===edit==

The Bible does not have any contradictions that I can find, and I have been studing it all of my life. I think that you just don't understand it.

And if you don't believe the Christian Bible, or what that Christ Jesus taught, then why be a Christian?

===edit2==

The Bible says that if you lack wisdom, then ask God for it. God will help you understand. And God can help you with faith, too, if you ask.

No, religion is a personal thing, and times are not as strict as a couple hundred years ago, find a type of christianity (lutheran, protestant, catholic, etc etc) that seem to best fit you. Most priests or other head clergy will be happy you take the time out of your busy schedule to actually come closer to christ. Just look for your Religion!!

I would encourage you to forget the christan group of religions.

If you read the bible there are several passages that encourage rape, murder, and slavery.

I am too tiered at this time to give you a long list, but one I will point to that encourages all of the above is numbers 31 , Numbers 31:18 tells the army of mosis to "keep the females among the little ones who have not known men by lying with them for your self's" what was the intent in telling them to keep those little virgins for themselves, how can it be expected that these battle hardened men who were told to spend a length of time alone outside the city to "become clean again" sounds to me more like give them time to get good and horny before taking stock of there new virgin, young slaves and this is after they have killed there fathers in battle, and then slaughtered there mothers and brothers like cowards.

I must say that my strong personal opinion is that the bible was inspired by the demonic, NOT the devine as the christans claim

any god that encourages the rape of little girls is not my god, but do not think for one minute that god dose not exist, and do not think that you are not here for a reason

I think semantics is your real problem here, I mean religions are very generalized as far as what you're allowed to do. Just avoid talking theology with other christians, and spin webs of circular logic if cornered, call yourself a non-practicing christian or some other such thing which will make people nod and wonder what you're really saying.

Jesus turned water into wine, didn't he? At a wedding, no less. This is not carte blanche to do whatever you want but if you think about it, it is man who turned the love and care and realization of reality into a religion. Jesus told you what to do. Do it. No matter what situation you find yourself in. You might be toked up at a party but your representation of getting Charlie home in a cab is evidence of your love for his safety and love of his future and eventually he'll come back and ask why you didn't throw him to the wolves. You can tell him then that you have the love of God in flesh.

In this ever-more scientific world, most of us end up picking ad chosing what we believe in.
Once Galileo and Copernicus before him showed that the earthe was NOT the center f the universe, people began to lose faith in the myths of religion.
So, most of us hang on to what works for us, and discard what doesn't. John Kerry accepts abortion but still goes to church, for one thing. If that doesn't prove my point...
Now, jesus saved my life, b/c if it weren't for him carrying his cross, I may never have carried mine, and gotten help for a
terrible illness I didn't even know I had!
So, even though it was just a very inspiring metaphor, I can kind of say I'm Christian again.
Metaphorically speaking, that is.
In a very real way.
And if I haven't adapted it to my own intellect and needs, I don't know who has!

What if you're right?
And he was just another nice guy
What if you're right?
What if it's true?
They say the cross will only make a fool of you
And what if it's true?

What if he takes his place in history
With all the prophets and the kings
Who taught us love and came in peace
But then the story ends
What then?

But what if you're wrong?
What if there's more?
What if there's hope you never dreamed of hoping for?
What if you jump?
And just close your eyes?
What if the arms that catch you, catch you by surprise?
What if He's more than enough?
What if it's love?

What if you dig
Way down deeper than your simple-minded friends
What if you dig?
What if you find
A thousand more unanswered questions down inside
That's all you find?

What if you pick apart the logic
And begin to poke the holes
What if the crown of thorns is no more
Than folklore that must be told and retold?

You've been running as fast as you can
You've been looking for a place you can land for so long
But what if you?re wrong?
