Does he like me? How should I act around him?

Well, there is this boy who just turned 18, while I turned 16 a month ago. I just met him this school year, and I don't want to sound stupid but ever since that 1st day that we met I felt this weird feeling, I even said that he had instantly "charmed" me. At first we started talking and it just seemed like any ordinary crush, so I din't think of it further but now that a few months have gone by I realize that I really like him. We flirt at times, and for the past 3.5 out of like 5 months he has waited for me after class. At first he had been very gentlmen-like and sweet which he still is but he would offer to carry my things for me, however I felt akward because I try to be a very independent girl. I'm not sure of the way I should act,b/c sometimes I act defensive in a sense but then others I believe that I become vunerable,and just get the feeling of wanting to be in his arms and such. I have even thought about making the 1st move I dont want 2 mess things up. help?!!?!?! plz.

Just tell him that... trust me. At the very, very least this guy thinks your a cool cat. So I don't see him hurting you, so just spill that out to him. All of it, don't just say simply you like him and want to be with him, say all those thing, all those insecurities, and you'll be surprise at the out come.
