Sure! That is about when I started. I must warn that it can really dry out your hair especially if you do it often...I found that out especially as I got older. Make sure you use conditioner regularly. Some people recommend getting regular hot oil treatments (every month or so) in order to prevent it from drying out too much. I am currently trying to grow out my highlights because the last person who did them really damaged my hair (she did them wrong)...so make sure that you go somewhere reputable. Otherwise, have fun with them! Get natural highlights (depending on your hair color) at first and experiment later if you decide you like them! :)

Absolutely! Stay natural... unless you want to make a statement. I still remember a couple girls in my 7th grade class. They cut their hair themselves, died it all kinds of fun colors, and experimented with spiking, braids, twisty things, and clips.... I admired them so much (so did the rest of the school). But if being edgy isn't your thing you can definitely have subtle hi-lights or a natural hair color that isn't your own. If you're not sure, try dying the underneath part of your hair so it only shows when you wear it up or flip it. You can also dip the tips in any color you want... then just get a trim when you're ready to remove the color.

it's okay as long as you don't bleach it that often. my hair is practically dead in some spots because i started doing insane colored streaks (i had to bleach it first to make the color stand out) i re-did it every 2 months starting when i was 13 and now i'm 14

Well you should listen to what your parents tell you, but if they don't mind then go for it! Just do it in moderation because hair can only handle so much coloring. Hair is healthier when you color in moderation.

ya sure. if yr asking because yr parents won't let you, im twelve. my parents said no because of the damage and also they liked my hair. so i compromised and said well can i get the tips of my hair done, i can cut it out if you don't like it and in a few months the damaged part will be cut out anyway. so they said yes. :)
