Keeping tempting foods out of your house is a great idea. Maybe try to convince your mom not to buy these things, and only buy herself personal-portions when she feels the temptation.
Many people who crave sweets are 1) addicted to sugar and 2) needing more protein in their diets. Often times the body craves something sweets when you need protein. It's just your body trying to think of the fastest way to feel better. Whenever I go on a juice fast my body starts craving sweets after a few days even though I never like to eat sweets in my regular life.
Just keep trying and try looking at what your daily food plan consists of to see if you're getting everything you need nutrition-wise. Often, eating right really helps people feel way better.

Good!
Keep throwing away the sweet stuff, it is absolutely no good for you!
Get different things to eat such as nuts and seeds, they are good snacks.
If you do not have the control, why cause yourself the pain of trying. Just keep either throwing away the sweet things or just not having anything to do with them at all!
There is another answer, you could always go for a 40 - 60 mins jog, or weight training session, then straight after you can eat a LOAD of sweet things and it shouldn't really do you much harm.
Most sports people I know have their 'sweets' this way.

I feel the same a lot of the time, and experience the same thing. What i fing that helps is to hav some frozen bananas in the freezer and eat those whenever I have a sweet craving. Also if you really want the sweet that is there, you should make sure that you drink one or two cups of cold water ( or even more) before you eat it, that way you feel full faster and it will prevent you from eating more.

Have you talked to her about how this makes you feel? Does she understand that she's making it difficult for you to maintain your weight? Maybe if you told her your fears, including the fact that you have a high risk factor of developing it yourself, it might change her habits.
My mom is also diabetic, overweight, and smokes to top it off. One positive thing is that once she cut out "white" foods (starches, processed sugars, white flour) and began eating more fruits and vegetables, she needed less and less insulin and now she's controling it through her diet. Could telling her this make a difference?
Both my brother and sister are overweight as well and I've had to fight like crazy to keep my weight under control. (For my BMI, I'm always about five pounds away from being considered overweight.)
I know that you may be feeling guilty for throwing away perfectly "good" food. (I hate throwing food out as well.) But in this case, maybe doing so outweights the bad of keeping it in the house. You are doing this to protect yourself, don't feel bad but let your mum know that this is really bugging you.
Take care,
Mon :-)

I am so sorry to hear that you are so distressed. You need to see a medical professional who can get to the root of your problem. Doing something now about your weight could set you on the road to a happier life.
I think it is a good idea to throw the sweet food away. At least it is out of temptation's way. But you must get the courage to seek help.
I wish you all the very best, darling.

You need to speak to your Mum about this problem. Approach her in a polite way so she doesn't feel like your attacking her (I know my Mum can get quite defensive at times)
You also need to work on your will power; try slimming clubs, hypnotism, new activities/hobbies to keep your mind off food.
A fantastic site is Sparkpeople.com, check it out it's totally free and fantastic.
When you are faced with some really tempting food think about what it will do to your body and your self esteem.
Put pictures of people you want to look like in your kitchen or carry one in your pocket and put post it notes to remind you to stop eating!
Remember - fridge pickers wear big knickers!

Yeah.. that's really a problem. It's really just a matter of mind over matter. Try viewing that piece of cake (in your mind of course) as if it had a green, red or blue background. I f that doesn't work, try viewing it as if it was zoomed out. You can also try viewing it as if it were on a negative.
It's just a matter of changing the colors of that cake to match the colors you dislike. Believe me, that works. The mind associates colors with tastes. If the colors you see are weird or you think are distasteful, your mind also tells you that it is distasteful.
But then again, the effect varies from person to person. If you really are motivated , it would really be just a piece of cake..
Hope I helped.. :)

Get help from a doctor, go to group meetings, see what works best for you - but do something. Starving yourself won't help either, because eventually when you start eating you'll gain even more weight back.
Again, all I can say is talk to your mom, and a professional to figure out what would help you the best.

omg I know how you feel! I have ALWAYS had a sweet tooth, right from when I was little. I guess hypnosis might work, sugar is so bad, it really is poison for humans. I am worried about diabetes too. I just don't buy it, that is the only way for me!
