Bound's hubby here:

This is a challenging question ... I'd have to give you five answers!

If I were in the market for a target semi-auto pistol, it would have to be a Colt Gold Cup National Match in .38 Special (full wadcutter, only). It is/was a premier centerfire target pistol.

If I were in the market for an all-purpose semi-auto, it would be a Colt M1911, chambered in .38 Super. It would be equipped with a flat mainspring housing, S&W Red Ramp front sight, and a S&W micrometer rear sight.

If I were in the market for an all-purpose revolver, it would be a S&W Model 25 revolver chambered in .45 Long Colt with a 6" heavy contour barrel of .451 bore, blued finish, square butt, with an additional .45 ACP/.45AR cylinder, and an Ed McGivern Bead front sight.

If I were in the market for a rifle, it would be a pre-'64 Winchester Model 70T in .30-06 with a Unertl 2" "Programmer" scope (12x) and Redfield International Mk8 Micrometer rear sight and Big Bore Globe front sight, with a Marksman stock.

If I were in the market for a shotgun, it would be a Winchester Model 12 take-down Heavy Duck with ventilated rib and pre-'37 quick change magazine tube plug.

Thanks for the opportunity to build a dream gun collection!

I would get a custom-made 1911-A1 that was made to order and manufactured/Q.A.-checked/test-fired by a famous person in the industry (Baer, Wilson, Brown, etc.). I would also like their name and my name inscribed on the gun to further personalize it. A guin like that would run you about $10,000 and you would probably have to wait a couple years. Those guys listed above have other people doing all the work for them now.
I am astonished at all the answers people are giving because they are listing guns that are not always so outrageously priced. To each his own, I guess. You did state that money was no object. I am amused with some of the answers, considering the fact that no-interest financing is available for a lot of guns.

Springfield Armory M1A/M21 Tatical rifle with the Douglas Heavy Match bbl with MilDot scope and all the extras. Anyone got and extra 5 grand to spare?

If money was really no object, I would have Marlin Firearms custom build a lever action 12ga. No good reason or need, I just really want a lever 12.

space,

Long arm - Barrett M82A1...it's a semi-auto rifle chambered in .50 BMG...awesome rilfe. There are some nice pre-64 Winchester Mod. 70 rifles that I wouldn't mind having, but given a choice between the two...the Barrett.

Handgun - Colt python, blue with 4" barrel, first year of production, 1955...100% condition, unfired. Ya know, a WWII 'Government Property' marked Singer produced 1911A1 in 100% condition, unfired...ooohhh...that would be cool...

Well since I am interested in CMP match shooting an AR-15 HBAR match grade rifle, and oddly enough that is the next gun I am going to buy. A match Grade Garand in 7.62 Nato would be good too.

It's a 3-way tie:

Wilson Combat's Protector in all stainless steel. Because it's almost certainly the best all stainless steel .45 1911 in the world.

Magnum Research's satin nickle Desert Eagle in .44 mag. Because it's a .44mag semi auto...

Kahr's TP-9. Because Kahr's kick ***.
