My 411 was manufactured in 1965. That's my baby and no way does she scare me. To the contrary. We've been chasing around together since I bought her in '91.

I fly a 1970 Cherokee 180 E ,not afraid at all. I know the plane well and it is maintained as it SHOULD be.
take in mind the engines in these planes(Single engine less than 200 hp) have around 2000 hours life span, then they are replaced. Our planes engine has just (A few months ago)been replaced by a 0 hrs Factory reman . I expect it to last the rest of my flying career.

Not if it is well maintained and passed the annual inspection.
Look at the DC-3 Most made in the 1940's and still flying

If it was made in 1940 and the last annual inspection pronounced it airworthy, there would be no more reason to be afraid of flying it than one made in 2004.

I owned a 1973 C-172M, and it flew just as nicely as the new 172R models that came out in 1998. As long as they've been maintained properly, planes last a good long time.

With a good, experienced pilot and what you say of how it was maintained and documented, not at all. I'd fly in it anytime.
