I don't know how to pull together my unmatching furniture. I can't really pull off a theme because the shapes and colors of the furniture are just all over the place. I can't buy newfurniture right now but i still want it to look a little stylish instead of a bachelor pad!

I have a suggestion that you just might enjoy... You can paint the wooden parts of the furniture one matching color. As for the fabric parts of the furniture, you can do that too. Here are a few links to help you out... Oh... and if you think you don't have enough talent to do this, you're wrong....! You can paint the furniture fabric all one color and then using a stencil, you can paint on top of that paint to make it look like patterned fabric...

I did this to an old ugly fabric armchair and it now looks great! I did it in a light beige with green fern leaf stencils... it looks quite Zen, didn't cost much and everytime someone new comes to my place, they always say I have a great chair! I've also done it for a number of clients.

Enjoy your new look!

Don't worry about mismatched furniture, get your personal things up which will have a theme, like your photos, your art, your fabrics. I used to buy suites of furniture and be Miss Matchy Matchy. That is so boring. Now I even mismatch my dishes. If you are nice you will get a pretty pattern. But really lets make life interesting. My sister still matches, she would paint everything black.

you can always buy slip covers for your furniture..of course they can be kinda` pricey. Why not get a couple of sheets that you like the pattern on and make your own..you can also use sheets for tableclothes, curtains, pillow covers..or place mats. This is kinda` cool...you can buy some tea towels and stitch them together for kitchen curtains. You could also paint a wooden piece of furniture to match the curtains and pillows. Hint..paint color should be the smallest color in your sheet.Good luck

Stay away from used furniture -- BED BUGS. If you've got furniture that will get you by, stay with it until you find a great sale in a flyer or other ad.

Pillows, throws, rugs and drapes. Pick a theme and let these items pick up the colors in your furniture. It will look like you planned it that way.
